Report VI – EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN
The Register is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced academic lead researcher and research team to undertake the research and preparation of Islamophobia in Australia Report VI. Since 2014, the Register’s academic reports have established a significant, widely-cited and influential national evidence base on Islamophobia.
The proposed research will examine Register data covering approximately 1 December 2024 to 30 September 2026, a period marked by exceptional volumes of Islamophobia recieved by the Register. We request interested academics to review the EOI terms and specifications listed below before submitting their proposal to tender@islamophobia.com.au

5th Islamophobia in
Australia Report
(2023-2024)
The Islamophobia Register Australia together with Monash University is proud to release the 5th Islamophobia in Australia Report on 13th March 2025 coinciding with the UN declared International Day for Combatting Islamophobia as well as the 6th anniversary of the Christchurch Terror Attack.
This report based on data from the Register and compiled by researchers Monash and Deakin universities covers incidents of Islamophobia between 2023-2024.
Latest publication: A War of Words: Preliminary Media Analysis of the 2023 Israel-Gaza War
This academic report was commissioned by the Islamophobia Register Australia and authored by Dr Susan Carland and Dr Sara Cheikh Husain.
The research analysed the Instagram accounts of Australian news outlets, revealing an imbalance in reporting of the Israel-Gaza situation.
The research examined media posts made from ABC News, The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, 9News, news.com.au and The Daily Aus between October 7th and November 7th 2023.
4th Islamophobia in
Australia Report
The Islamophobia Register in partnership with Charles Sturt University and ISRA is proud to publish the fourth Islamophobia Report on 21st March 2023 on the UN declared International Day to Eliminate Discrimination. It also marks 4 years on from the Christchurch Terror Attack.
This report covers data between 2020-2021 but also compiles data since 2014 when the Register was founded.
